Environmental Graduate

The Role

As our new Environmental Graduate, you’ll provide on-site support to Construction teams during Delivery Milestones of the projects. You’ll assist in the preparation and review of environmental paperwork required for construction ensuring we remain ethical and compliant whilst not impacting on pressing deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • The central point of environmental advice, utilising specialist consultants where appropriate, to assist site management in complying with our environmental requirements and sharing best practice
  • You will implement both environmental and sustainability practices
  • Keep up to date with Environmental policies
  • Support our pre-start planning function including assisting with early ecology surveying and screening
  • Under the close guidance of the HSEQ Manager and HSEQ Director set internal standards to continually raise performance and meet customer requirements
  • Assist the wider HSEQ team on environmental matters
  • Support the team with external audits including ISO14001, ISO50001 & CEMARS
  • Provide input into our Be Sustainability & Be Green Improvement Plan and monitor & report on progress
  • Identify environmental good practices for inclusion in Company communications
  • Monitor and review environmental performance data to drive improvements
  • Provide monthly Environmental / Energy & Sustainability reports on statistics and progress against our Environmental 3 Pillar targets
  • Support the HSEQ Manager & the wider team during incident investigations to maximise lessons learnt and implement improvements

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level in Geography, Environmental Science or Earth Sciences gaining a minimum of a 2:1 classification.
  • Affiliate or Associate IEMA or equivalent qualification is desirable
  • Competent in Office 365 with PowerBi and PowerApps desirable
  • Driving licence

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of ecology matters and pre-construction screening.
  • Competent in using GIS
