We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

We are driving change, empowering us to set global benchmarks and build a better environment, with the opportunity to offer enhanced growth and development to our workforce. We’re looking to build on our existing teams with an environment built for career progression.

Essential to us outperforming against our Procurement objectives and managing the effective and timely procurement of goods and services across the Alliance, we are looking for a Procurement Manager to join the team!

What you will be doing as our new Procurement Manager?

As our new Procurement Manager, you’ll manage and motivate a team of procurement professionals whilst ensuring responsible procurement practices are met and comply with Anglian Water regulations, collaborating closely with all key stakeholders across all programme areas and the wider business.

You’ll facilitate the cross-transfer of knowledge, lessons learnt and expertise across the different programme areas and the wider supply chain whilst delivering commercial benefits and exceptional Customer Service throughout.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the delivery teams, developing and implementing delivery strategies for the portfolio of works.
  • Driving a high-performing supply chain to meet our overall objective across each business unit.
  • Ensure responsible procurement practices are met and comply with Anglian Water regulations, and capture and record benefits within the team.
  • Monitor the issuing of performance scorecards within the supply chain, whilst building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Category performance management within construction services, construction materials and process plant and equipment.
  • Supplier risk management across all programme areas and negotiation of critical goods and services.
  • Networking and stakeholder management across the programme areas to develop a consistent approach.
  • Working closely with the Procurement Managers and Category Managers to optimise opportunities and efficiencies across the supply chain.
  • Develop, lead and sustain a high-performing team, blending people with the right attitude, skills, diversity and experience to deliver.
  • Support tenders, evaluate submissions and make recommendations.

A little bit about your skills, experience, and behaviours….

To join the team, you’ll hold a relevant MCIP / CMI qualification and have a good working knowledge of NEC contracting. You’ll have experience managing teams with at least 6 direct reports, and multiple stakeholder groups both internal and external. Proven experience of working in a commercially challenging environment, with sound judgement and clear decision-making.

Ideally, you’ll have a degree in business or procurement-related subjects, but more importantly, you’ll show you are an innovative individual and inspirational leader, keen to create, develop, and coach a team with delegation and empowerment.
