Sales Manager
The Role:
The Sales Manager is responsible for the delivery of an industry leading customer journey programme through the management of all Barhale sales teams and external account managers, whilst developing and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales
- Manage the BCS sales team to include, Internal Barhale customer service desk, external customer desk, hire desk and the external account manager team.
- Achieve measurable growth across all BCS sales departments and Account Managers and ensure that we are in line to hit sales targets
- Manage a customer portfolio of key accounts, to develop robust and enduring customer relationships with our key accounts, prioritising customer retention as a paramount objective
- Build strong relationships within our supply chain, ensuring continuous alignment with the latest product offerings and innovations in our industry
- Ensure that customer complaints are addressed in a timely and professional manner and are closed out correctly with all necessary departments and managers.
- Network on a regular basis at industy events and exhibitions, building relationships around customers and future recuits for our business
- Create and manage a CRM system for all customers, identifying a growth, maintain and new prospect management approach utilising all members of the internal and external sales team.
- Review the BCS sales performance on a monthly basis during business reviews, providing an update on the previous month performance and forecast for future performance.
- Assist in the completion of annual budgets and sales targets for the internal and external sales teams.
- Work closely with the warehouse and production operations manager and logistics manager to ensure all customer demands are met on time in full, understanding manufacturing schedules for signage products, and supplier lead times and stock levels within the warehouse.
- Complete a winning works summary on a monthly basis that contributes towards the board report submission.
Business Development
- Work closely with the Traffic management business development manager to ensure that we are targeting the right customers with offers, promotions, clearances and special offers
- Identify exhibitions that we should be attending as a business.
- Ensure that customer feedback is obtained and shared on a regular basis to make our business more effiiecent and to ensure that customer service remains at a high standard
- Monitor our competition from a sales perspective and share findings with the team, this could include promotions, offers or new products and innovations
- Working with our procurement department, review current suppliers to ensure the best prices and service is given, reviewing margin opportunities on all products that are sold within the BCS range
HSEQ
- Responsible for ensuring that the organisation meets all agreed health and safety legislation and objectives that are appropriate for your area of management to include risk mitigation and that control measures are in place.
- Attend HSEQ meetings with operational teams, ensuring all issues are documented and actioned.
- Set an example for team members of commitment to health and safety activities.
- Support HSEQ advisor to comply with our environmental requirements and share best practice.
- Support wider HSEQ team on environmental and Quality matters. This includes supporting the preparation for external audits including ISO14001, ISO50001
- Support our long-term Carbon strategy linked to our Be Sustainable Be Green Plan
- Support with the development and delivery of internal environmental and Quality training.
- Identify environmental/Quality good practice for inclusion in Company communications.
- Monitor and review environmental/Quality performance data to drive improvements.

Our staff are trained and fully qualified in the maintenance, calibration and inspection of a full range of specialist safety & lifting equipment.
