Barhale is looking to grow its M&E team within the water industry, this is a great opportunity to be part of a newborn team and help influence and guide the team as it grows.

The industrial electrician will be part of our installation teams working on the Integrated

Operational Solutions (IOS) Framework for the Anglian Water AMP 7/8 Programme.

This is a long-term opportunity – we are looking at a further 10 years of work in a 50-mile radius of Northampton. This role requires electrical equipment to be installed predominantly at Anglian Water's clean water and wastewater sites, ensuring that health and safety are always adhered to and that issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical equipment for water treatment works (Anglian water) to Barhale standards.
  • Work with and have input into risk assessments and method statements to ensure health and safety are always strictly adhered to.
  • Competent to work directly from drawings and scopes of work to a high standard.
  • Experienced in industrial installations including but not limited to steel containment, power, and ICA wiring, telemetry & fault finding.
  • Keen to fulfil customer’s targets, involving overtime when required.
  • Able to mentor improvers and apprentices.
  • To assist with commissioning and testing installations.
  • Ensure that you are following all company and client rules.
  • Actively engage with management in the planning, organizing and delivery of work.
  • Assist site teams with the requisitioning of materials and equipment promptly.
  • Assist team leaders with day-to-day operations on site.
  • Identify site issues and report to team leaders to ensure resolution.
  • Deliver projects to water industry standards within the IOS Framework, on time and on budget.
  • Willing to work away from home for short periods (Project & training dependent)

  • As a Team and Individual we are measured on our health & safety record, quality of installation and delivery on time.
  • Planning and organising the correct materials and equipment to complete the work.
  • Tidy and Organised Vehicle and Gang Kit.
  • Your targets will be set during Personal Development Review meetings with your line manager.
  • There are opportunities to further your career within the team, to achieve positions such as Supervisor and LV Authorised Person, with training provided by the company.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:

  •  Enthusiastic and ambitious personality
  • Time served electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience in electrical installations associated with the water industry.
  • CSCS ECS Gold Card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • C&G 2391 Qualified (or current equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication, both verbal and written
  • Able to work under your initiative, as well as within teams.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable in electrical installations.
  • Be able to demonstrate a leadership approach to health, safety, quality, and environmental obligations.
